DR-H201-D85 Double 85 High Humidity Chamber
Run controlled 85°C and 85% RH exposure for electronics, semiconductor devices, automotive components, photovoltaic modules and material systems. The DR-H201-D85 series provides five published workspace sizes for steady damp-heat reliability testing.
What Double 85 Testing Reveals
Sustained heat and moisture can accelerate moisture ingress, corrosion, insulation decline, delamination and material-interface failures. The chamber provides the exposure; the product standard determines how results are evaluated.

Build a Defensible 85/85 Test Plan
Define conditioning
State specimen preparation, preconditioning and whether the device is unbiased, biased or continuously powered.
Define exposure
Specify 85°C/85% RH duration, stabilization rule, monitoring interval, interruptions and allowed tolerances.
Define evaluation
Document electrical, optical, mechanical or visual measurements and the exact failure criteria.
Double 85 Chamber Reference Image

Loading Practices That Protect Uniformity
Keep air paths open
Leave clearance between samples and avoid blocking supply or return air with trays, fixtures or large panels.
Control specimen density
Define batch quantity, mass and moisture absorption because a crowded load changes recovery and local RH.
Seal cable entries
Specify bias wiring and sensor leads, then seal unused port area to limit room-air leakage.
Use appropriate water
Follow the approved water-quality, tank/feed, cleaning and drainage requirements for the humidification system.
Manage condensation
Use the prescribed ramp and post-test handling sequence; uncontrolled door opening can add non-test condensation.
Record interruptions
Document alarms, door openings, water events and deviations that may affect the validity of long exposures.
Match the Chamber to the Applicable Method
| Reference | Typical relationship | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| IEC 60068-2-78 | Steady-state damp heat | That every product uses 85°C/85% RH or the same duration. |
| cURL Too many subrequests by single Worker invocation. To configure this limit, refer to https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/wrangler/configuration/#limits | PV module damp-heat qualification | That chamber capability alone proves module compliance. |
| JESD22-A101 | Steady-state temperature-humidity bias testing | That bias circuits, monitoring and failure criteria are automatically included. |
| Customer/automotive specification | Product-specific reliability exposure | That “Double 85” defines sample state, duration or acceptance. |

Câu hỏi thường gặp
What does Double 85 mean?
It refers to exposure at 85°C and 85% relative humidity. It does not by itself define duration, specimen operation or acceptance criteria.
Which chamber size should I choose?
Select from the complete loaded envelope, fixture, sample quantity and airflow clearance—not nominal litres alone.
Does every Double 85 test run for 1,000 hours?
No. Some procedures use long exposures, but the applicable standard or customer plan must define duration and interruptions.
Can samples be electrically biased?
Yes when the configuration includes suitable feedthroughs and the approved plan defines bias, monitoring, heat and safety requirements.
Does this chamber certify IEC 61215 compliance?
No chamber alone certifies a product. It can provide the required damp-heat exposure when configuration, calibration, loading and procedure meet the applicable method.
