Start with the applicable IEC 60068, MIL-STD-810, ISO 16750 or customer procedure. Record the required cold, dry-heat, temperature-change and dwell conditions, including tolerances and the temperature location used for compliance.
Review Temperature Test Standards →Provide the starting condition, upper and lower temperatures, ramp or transition requirements, dwell time, number of cycles and recovery criteria. A controller’s maximum range alone does not define usable test performance.
Plan the Complete Temperature Profile →Size the chamber from the loaded specimen envelope, airflow clearance, fixtures, shelves and cable routing—not nominal litres alone. Restricted airflow can increase gradients and prevent the specimen from reaching the required condition.
Review Chamber Size and Airflow →State whether the requested heating and cooling rate applies to chamber air or the specimen. Powered samples, fixtures and internal heat output change pull-down time, recovery and required refrigeration capacity.
Evaluate Loaded Ramp Performance →Add humidity only when the method requires damp heat, condensation, humidity cycling or controlled storage. Confirm the valid temperature-humidity operating envelope, water quality and specimen moisture sensitivity before choosing the system.
Compare Temperature-Humidity Testing →Define sensor locations, uniformity and fluctuation checks, data recording, access ports, internal power, alarms and acceptance-test conditions. These details create a verifiable specification and reduce changes after manufacture.
