Specify Xenon Arc Weathering from the Exposure Method

Select a xenon system from the applicable standard, filter, controlled irradiance wavelength, specimen exposure area, black-panel or black-standard temperature, humidity and water-spray cycle.

ASTM G155, ISO 4892-2 or Customer Method

Identify the exact exposure method and cycle rather than requesting a generic xenon chamber. Filters, irradiance setpoint, temperature, humidity, spray and dark stages must match the material and procedure.

Lamp Cooling and Filter Configuration

Air-cooled and water-cooled lamp systems have different utilities, maintenance and capacity. Select daylight, window-glass or other method-defined filters from the required spectrum—not from product name alone.

Review Xenon System Configurations →

Irradiance Wavelength and Closed-Loop Control

Specify whether irradiance is controlled at 340 nm, 420 nm or a defined broadband range. Ask how the sensor is calibrated, where irradiance is measured and how lamp ageing is compensated.

Evaluate Irradiance Control →

Temperature, Humidity and Water-Spray Cycle

Define chamber air temperature, black-panel or black-standard temperature, relative humidity, specimen spray and dark-cycle requirements. These stresses must be controlled as one exposure program.

Plan the Exposure Cycle →

Specimen Size and Exposed Area

Provide sample dimensions, thickness, quantity, holders and required exposure orientation. Rotating racks, flat trays and benchtop systems offer different usable areas and uniformity conditions.

Compare Specimen Capacity →

Calibration, Uniformity and Acceptance

Define irradiance calibration, temperature sensor verification, exposure uniformity, water quality, cycle records and acceptance documentation. Repeatability depends on maintained sensors, filters and lamp conditions.

Xenon equipment selection

Choose by Exposure Objective, Optical System and Specimen

These seven pages are not seven interchangeable names for one xenon chamber. Material weathering, compact lightfastness work, higher-irradiance programs and solar heating of operating equipment impose different requirements. Match the procedure, filter, irradiance measurement, specimen temperature, moisture cycle and usable exposure area before comparing cabinet size or lamp power.

Your primary objective Relevant product page Selection check
Small specimens and benchtop screening DR-H301-MINI Desktop Xenon Tester Verify the exposed sample area, filter, irradiance channel, temperature sensor and whether the required moisture function is installed.
Air-cooled material-weathering configurations Air-Cooled Xenon Lamp Aging Chamber
DR-H301 Air-Cooled Xenon Arc Chamber
Compare the quoted model, lamp arrangement, filter, control wavelength, exposure area and spray/humidity functions. Similar page names do not prove identical hardware or method coverage.
Paint and plastic weathering Paint & Plastic Xenon Test Chamber Define the material, relevant exposure procedure and evaluation endpoint—such as colour, gloss, cracking or property retention. The application name is not a substitute for an optical specification.
Larger water-cooled weathering system DR-H301-2 Xenon Arc Weathering Chamber Review rotating-rack capacity, water-cooled lamp utilities, spray, humidity and method-specific irradiance control. It is a separate configuration from the DR-H301 air-cooled page.
Higher-irradiance or advanced spray programs DR-H301-K420S Xenon Weathering Chamber Specify the chosen 340 nm, 420 nm or broadband control channel, required setpoint, optical filter, front/rear spray sequence and acceptance evidence.
Solar heating and operation of equipment Solar Simulation Chamber Define the radiation field, spectrum, operating heat load and surface/internal temperature measurements. Solar heating of equipment is not the same objective as material weathering or PV electrical-performance testing.
A standard name is not a complete exposure cycle. Confirm the adopted edition and material-specific procedure, filter type, irradiance wavelength and units, black-panel or black-standard temperature, humidity, wetting and evaluation method. Xenon exposure is distinct from fluorescent UV testing; test hours cannot be converted into outdoor service years without a validated material-specific correlation.
